Settings

There's one for snow, one for distance, one for corners and the car coming back.  The bus--Route 3, Hillsdale--says (on the schedule in the bus stop behind me) it will be here in five minutes but I'm damn near frozen in time already. People are waiting for me downtown.

There's a setting for hands in my pocket and jacket zipped up tight and a Maple Leafs cap (no ear flaps).  And one for sidewalks, which this time of year begin to store up their heaves for next spring.  East is a setting; just off to the right is one.

Colour is a default setting but I don't blame it for that.

I didn't realize it until now, but what I was talking about was the fortunes of the Toronto Maple Leafs, circa December, 2009, and their many and few fans.

I'd like to hang a right some day soon.

Go Leafs!

Amazing the liberties people take about making anti-Leafs comments when they see me in my Leaf cap. They're not quite so yappy recently, however.

Way to take em for the team!

Why thank you. I'm going to be pulling back into Toronto around April 21, 2010, and might have to scrounge tickets for game the Leafs might need to clinch third place in the conference.

Nice! Going to a Leafs game is high on my list of things to do before I croak.

I'd love to win the lottery and buy a weekend in Toronto for a Leafs game for the long-time Leaf lovers I know. What a gas! Off the top of my head, here they are: T.Hill, B.Schmidt, D.Buchanan, J.Schumaker, the Ms in Bladworth, T.Jordan, B.Salming and others I've forgotten right now. Trouble is, for every one of us, a half-dozen wise-ass Hab or Canuck fans natter away.
